How much does that make the wine? Given that they usually sell for $13 a bottle, you are looking at about $6.50 a bottle plus tax, shipping, and handling. For a 3 bottle purchase, it would have cost me $28.41 altogether. That's $9.47 a bottle–amazing for the quality of wine that you are getting!
As a I mentioned in my full Club W review, Club W is a personalized wine club. You take a Palate Profile quiz when you first enter the site and then just give them your email address to get the results. You don't have to pay anything for that. From there they will recommend wines to you based on your Palate Profile and how many wines you want to buy. I always ask for both red and white recommendations but usually end up ordering 1 red and 2 white per shipment.
This month they recommended to me:
- 2012 Ombre Pinot Noir (which I have had before and loved!)
- 2013 The Independent Chenin Blanc
- 2013 Little Sur Chardonnay
- 2012 So This Happened White Blend
It's a nice variety and definitely in line with the types of wines that I usually prefer. The great thing about their club is that you can either accept their recommendations or choose from other wines on their site as well. You can watch videos about each wine to learn more about it and then rate it after you try it.
There isn't any club obligation to continue buying after the first shipment. You can choose if you want to continue to get 3 bottles a month (which might be too much for you), to cut back on the number of months, or to stop getting shipments altogether. It's definitely a very flexible club great for people just learning about wine or who like to try a lot of different wines they wouldn't find at their local stores.
