Tricia and I just returned from a trip to Philadelphia where we enjoyed dinner hosted by California Wine Club‘s online marketing consultant, Greg Hoffman. California Wine Club supplied a case of wine for the table: half 2009 “Classic” Edna Valley Pinot Noir and half 2010 “Edelzwicker” Central Coast (White Blend), both from Claiborne and Churchill Vintners.
The whites were brought to the table in a bucket of ice, but when opened were only slightly cooler than room temperature. While they were good, I personally think that if they were completely chilled (put in the refrigerator for a few hours) they'd be better. Lucky for me, the table must have agreed as 2 bottles were leftover and, since I drove to the meeting instead of flying, I was easily able to bring them home with me. I'll be trying them again soon.
The Pinot Noir, on the other hand, was served properly at room temperature. It was delicious, the table had no problem polishing off all 6 bottles.
These wines are available from California Wine Club, and their $1 shipping special is still going on (until September 30).

This was a great opportunity for us to meet face-to-face with these wine clubs and learn more about what's coming and gave us a great chance to tell them what we'd like to see from their clubs.[/message]
