The ordering process was quick and fun
I thought their interactive quiz was a unique and entertaining way to buy wine.
Since I know for a fact that I do not like white wine, I wanted to ensure that I did not receive any white wines in any delivery. So when the initial taste quiz used any descriptors of tastes that implied white wines or sweet wines, then I made sure to answer to ensure I receive only red wines. I don't like rosè wine and I don't want any sparkling wines or any Champagne. I only want red wines. And I also want to be sure that those red wines are not sweet. That is disgusting to me.
Since Firstleaf personalizes the deliveries for every customer, anyone who happens to dislike red wines the way I dislike white wines — then they don't have to have any red wines in their deliveries! First leaf is really flexible and can make sure to accommodate any taste.
After the quiz is done, they request your email address to send your personal recommendations. You will then see exactly the wines that they have selected for your first delivery.
If your quiz results show you wines that you want to replace, they allow you to do so quite easily.
But I saw that they chose some really nice looking red wines for me and I wanted to let their algorithm do its magic. So I let them choose the wines, and I was very satisfied with the results.

Normally when I buy a wine of the month club, the order is placed and my first shipment will be delivered after the wine club prepares its next month's deliveries. Therefore, I would typically have to wait for several weeks with other wine of the month clubs.
I was very pleasantly surprised to receive my order confirmation so quickly — and within a day or so later, there was a shipping confirmation sent to me! It only took a few days after my order and I actually received my first six bottles of wine.

My delivery looked terrific.
The six bottles came safely packaged in a well-branded first leaf box and the packaging material was made of recycled material and everything was recyclable. Nothing was going into any landfills from this delivery. All the cardboard is recyclable and the glass from my bottles are recyclable and we oftentimes use the corks for crafts and other projects that keep them out of the garbage.
At the top of my delivery box, there there was full color company brochure that is very well produced and looked really nice. It includes information about their company, the types of wines that they offer, and something about their premier options as well.

I was really impressed with their personalized welcome letter and personalized tasting notes which was in full color and was completely customized for my delivery, and included my name and other elements that are very personalized just for me.
The wines look wonderful
I received 4 Cabernet Sauvignon bottles from various regions: 1 from Chile, 2 from France and 1 from the state of Washington. I also received an Argentinian Red blend as well as a Shiraz from Australia.
After all these years of tasting wines and learning about different wines and wine regions, I am certain that I will enjoy these wines! I do love almost all red wines from Chile and Argentina, and I've enjoyed cabernet's from France as well as the state of Washington. And I also really love Shiraz. I'd say that Firstleaf definitely got initial delivery figured out perfectly just for me!
