Consumer Reports: Wine of the Month Club

Consumer Reports Wine of the Month Club

Congratulations to our friends from Wine of the Month Club for recently being rated at the top of the monthly wine clubs that Consumer Reports ranked. Their rating definitely matches up with our Wine of the Month Club reviews.

Consumer Reports experts blind tasted wine from the following clubs: Wine of the Month Club Cellar Series, WSJ Wine Club Discovery Club, and the New York Times Sampler Club.

Wine of the Month ClubThe Wine of the Month Club Cellar Series was rated “mid good” for its wines, compared to “low good” and “fair” for the other clubs. The Cellars Series is actually one of the most expensive of the Wine of the Month Clubs ($65.95/shipment), but we had a great experience with their Classic Series as well ($21.95) and gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The Classic is the club that launched the whole company.

The Consumer Reports rankings came at a great time as people are looking to make wine club purchases as gifts. Their report doesn't give too much information about what you get in the clubs, but we have put together some videos and images from our Wine of the Month Club deliveries if you are interested in learning more.

We have to agree with Consumer Reports on this one that giving the Wine of the Month Club as a gift is definitely a better idea than the others that they ranked. From great wine to festive packaging to a satisfaction guarantee, you can't go wrong with this one!
