Game of Thrones Wine

If you are a Game of Thrones fan like I am, you are eagerly awaiting the premiere of season 7 on July 16. They have been taunting and teasing us with trailers and leaked pictures from the set. Everyone has their own theories about how things are going to end. I feel conflicted because I can't wait for it to start, but I don't want it to end!

One way to add to your GoT excitement is with bottles of Game of Thrones Wine from Wine of the Month Club. They have 3 different varietals:

  • Red Wine (2014)
  • Chardonnay (2016)
  • Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) (2014)

The Red and the Chardonnay are on sale for $18.99, while the Cabernet Sauvignon is selling for $44.99. Not only are those some of the best prices I have seen on the wine, but the shipping charges are less than other places you can order them. Your best bet is to order at least 3 bottles because the cost per bottle to ship goes down at that point.

Imagine sitting down on July 16 with your bottle of Game of Thrones Wine and the anticipation of the final season.

Here's a little more information about each wine:

Red Wine: Winemaker, Bob Cabral, has truly captured the series in this Game of Thrones wine. In this blend, Cabral crafted a robust red from premier vineyards in Paso Robles, California using eight types of red grape varietals with predominately Syrah, Tempranillo, and Petite Sirah. The 3-day cold soak before beginning the fermentation process lends the juicy fruit flavors which balances the pleasant dryness on the palate. On the nose, the blend smells of black berries, vanilla, and cocoa. The forefront flavor to follow is of juicy fruit with hints of leather and spice. To conclude, moderate tannins are found with spice and more vanilla. Those who enjoy dramatic wines will savor this Red Blend with all of its twists and turns in flavor – fit for a house equally as complex, perhaps a Lannister.

Chardonnay:  Bob Cabral, fourth generation grape grower and winemaker, crafted an enticingly elegant Chardonnay. This Game of Thrones wine is made up of mostly Chardonnay and a touch of Riesling grapes from the Central Coast of California. On the nose, you will find that stone fruit and white flowers encompass your senses. At first sip, the wine is creamy and rich but as you forge forward, it's filled with refreshing, mouth-water citrus flavors. The finish is powerful with just a trace of oak that lingers on the palate. A fair, yet determined wine made for a Khaleesi.

Cabernet Sauvignon: Winemaker, Bob Cabrel, sought the finest grapes from Napa Valley to create this superb Game of Thrones wine. Following their fermentation, Cabral chose to rack each lot of wine individually to allow them to age separately in order to select the best for this breathtaking Cabernet Sauvignon. The result would warm even a White Walkers' icy heart. This wine is, at first whiff, entwined with blackcurrant and vanilla due to being aged in French oak barrels. The flavors on the palate are long and intense with smooth tannins dancing with cocoa in the mouth. An intricate work of art crafted for a Night's Watchman or a royal Targaryen.

The detail on the bottles is exactly what you would expect for a wine bearing the name Game of Thrones. Each bottle is unique, so collectors will definitely want one of each.

Only so many bottles were made so if you think you might ever want one (for drinking or for collecting), head to Wine of the Month Club now and place your order!
