Vignerons Réunis de Buxy Cuvée Réserve Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023

The delight in drinking the classic, well-made 2023 Vignerons Réunis de Buxy Cuvée Réserve Bourgogne Chardonnay lies in the winery’s rendering of Chardonnay’s pure natural flavors, not in the preponderance of “butter” or new oak. True to form, the 2023 Cuvée Réserve Bourgogne Chardonnay offers elegance, finesse, purity, and subtlety of flavor as well as plenty of good cheer and thirst-quenching drinkability. With a brilliant in hue, a glint of afternoon sunshine, and a pleasing bouquet of acacia, spring flowers, citrus, and freshly picked summer apples, there is everything to like about this wine. In the mouth the wine’s bouquet re-emerges, offering unadulterated Chardonnay fruit, superb texture, and a refreshing mineral-driven finish. The sensuous, crowd-pleasing Guy Amiot et Fils NV Crémant de Bourgogne Brut from one of Burgundy’s most exquisite producers pleases from the moment it is poured. A blend of 34% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir, and 33% Aligoté, it is made using the Méthode Traditionnelle, the same painstaking method of fermentation in the bottle as Champagne, and it rests on it lees for at least 16-18 months.
