WSJ Wine Club from The Wall Street Journal has two different offers
So what's the difference? Let's compare them:
Feature | 12-Bottle Offer | 15-Bottle Offer |
---|---|---|
Bottles of Wine | 12 | 15 |
Types of Wine | Red White Mixed |
Red White Mixed |
Value | $189.99 | $239.99 |
Initial Cost | $69.99 | $69.99 |
Savings | $120.00 | $170.00 |
Initial Cost / Bottle | $5.83 | $4.67 |
Free gift | Lever-action corkscrew set | None |
Ongoing cost | $149.99 | $149.99 |
Ongoing bottles | 12 | 12 |
Ongoing cost / bottle | $12.50 | $12.50 |
As you can see, the difference in the two offers lies only in the initial offer: choose either 12 bottles and a free gift, or 15 bottles of wine.
Personally, I'm not a fan of fancy corkscrews and prefer a simple waiters key (see How to open a wine bottle with a “waiter's key”) and therefore I'd choose the 15 bottle offer, but if you were giving this as a gift, the corkscrew may be a welcome addition to the package.
