WSJ (Wall Street Journal) Wine Club
WSJ’s case of wine club has been a consistent high quality, high value wine of the month club.
The introductory price is only $89.99 (plus $19.99 shipping & applicable tax) and they sometimes include free gifts! Future deliveries will be at the regular price.
The wine is top notch and although you’ll love your quarterly delivery, you can cancel at any time.

One of the most popular clubs we have ever reviewed is the Wall Street Journal Wine Club (also known as the WSJ Wine Club). It features anywhere from 12-15 bottles per shipment plus introductory gifts depending upon the month and the current promotion that they are running. However, the basics of the club stay the same.
How Does the WSJ Wine Club Work?
Unlike most other wine clubs, the Wall Street Journal Wine Club ships wine only by the case. This makes it great for people who like a wide variety of different wines at value prices. A typical first shipment will be 12-14 bottles for $89.99, or $7.49 a bottle. (Shipping is an additional $19.99) You can choose from a case of all red, a case of all white, or a mixed case. Shipments are then sent quarterly with additional seasonal boxes. Tasting notes and food pairing guides are included, and you often receive a gift with your first purchase.
See my video below or keep reading to learn even more details about what you can expect from the club.
What do you get in your WSJ Wine Club Delivery?
A standard case delivery from the Wall Street Journal Wine Club will include 12 bottles of wine plus tasting notes for each bottle. The tasting notes include information about the winery, food pairing ideas, and storage/serving suggestions. The first delivery also comes with a binder to hold your tasting notes plus some type of introductory gift (mine was a wine corking set but lately it has been 3 extra bottles of wine).
- Select reds, whites, or mixed
- Low initial price ($89.99)
- Reorder wines anytime
- Nice gifts with purchase
- The only option is a quarterly case club
- Additional $19.99 shipping charge
One of the new additions to the site that I really like is that you can see which wines will be included in your first case before you order. You can choose from 12 reds, 12 whites, or a mixed box. Current red wines include an Australian Shiraz, an Argentinian Malbec, a California blend, and a Tuscan Chianti. White wines include: a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, an Italian Pinot Grigio, and a California Chardonnay.
Be advised that you may get more than one bottle of the same wine, particularly if you order a full case of either red or white as opposed to the mixed case.
You will receive a case shipment every three months but you can skip a shipment or cancel at any time. Be advised that they also offer a special holiday shipment and a special summer shipment. One of the biggest complaints we hear about the club is from people who do not pay attention to these shipping notifications. If you do not want a shipment, you need to cancel BEFORE it it shipped rather than after it arrives and then try to get your money back.
Who should order the WSJ Wine Club?
Fortunately, the Wall Street Journal Wine Club can delivery to just about every state (with few exceptions). The offer may vary from state to state due to state laws. This makes it one of the most flexible clubs that we offer.
However, ordering the club for a gift can be difficult because they do not offer any type of gift wrap or even gift notification service. Because of that, it is best when used as a personal club purchase rather than to try to send as a gift (although who wouldn't want 12 bottles of wine??).
The club is best for people who like a variety of different wines and trying wines from all over the world. Bottles are estimated to retail for about $15 each, so that gives you an idea quality-wise of the wine you are getting.
Be sure to take the opportunity to set up an online account when you place your order so that you can 1) manage your membership online, 2) view and sort your wines, and 3) save your delivery options online. This will also help immensely if you need to contact customer service!
